1)I want to buy headphones for less than 200$, Most places recommanded the M50x and actually I really want
them but i wanted to ask around a bit, what do you guys think of them?
2) Do you have other reccomandations for headphones around that price?(Prefferebly from Ebay because Amazon ships to my country at like 70$)
3) I saw most of those expensive headphones do no have an in-line volume control, is the only way of increasing and decreasing the volume
is through the Windows(for example) volume?
4)I plan to buy them also for gaming, In what way can I mimic the virtual 5.1 that most gaming headsets have?
5) Will I need a dac/amp/new soundcard for the m50x or the other headphones you reccomand?(I read the FAQ but stil a bit unclear 'bout that) - My
motherboard is Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H
Thanks for all the answers :)

Solution
1) m50x = overpriced at $165. the m50s at $100-110 = good value. for the price of the m50x you are near the price of the dt770 which is superior.

2) depends on what you are looking for in a headphone. for gaming the hd598 or hd558 are going to be better than the m50 series since they have a wide soundstage and pinpoint accuracy. less bass and no isolation though. the ad700x/ad900x are heavily sought after for ultra competitive gaming but have almost zero bass response. the m50/dt770 series are bassier headphones with smaller soundstages and noise isolation due to being a closed set of cans. in general: open = good gaming. closed = more bass + isolation.

3) generally yes. no serious headphone has a volume control as this is reserved...

3) generally yes. no serious headphone has a volume control as this is reserved for cruddy headsets and cheapo headphones. there are some other options though. if you used an external amplifier to power them it should have a volume knob on the front. external soundcards typically also offer a knob. there might be an add-on type knob device you can buy to give you this option as well though.

4) virtual surround (which is what most gaming headsets use) can be achieved in a few ways. free razer software (buggy and not great but works most of the time) which requires no money spent. if your onboard audio supports virtual surround already such as dolby headphone. getting a soundcard (internal or external) which supports virtual surround as an option. generally though virtual surround introduces a bit of distortion and in many cases you dont need it as stereo may work fine for you with positional accuracy.

5) m50x/m50 does not require amping and will have almost no gains. hd598/hd558 will get a bit bassier on an amp but it is not required. the dt770 will respond well to at least a cheap amp or good soundcard. the dt990-250pro (not listed above) absolutely needs a decent amp to power it well (probably the best headphone under $200 but since it needs a good amp you're looking at a total of $300 investment i would say so i did not list it)

Are there other open back "gaming fit" headphones you could reccomand? Thanks!
