Hello, after lurking here for 20 years or so, I finally have a post!!

I appreciate any advice you can offer. I did some searching in forums but could not any posting specific to my question.

I ordered a Gigabyte P34Gv2-CF4 Laptop and want to upgrade the second drive (1st is a 128 SSD and second is a slow 1TB HDD) to a Crucial mx200 500 gb ssd drive. I edit video and my current laptop drive really runs to load and compile. Thinking an SSD will help with speed and heat.

I assume the OS will be on the 128 ssd and I can just remove and replace the hdd in slot 1

Is there more to it than that (and maybe some bios stuff)?

I have built rigs.. back it the day when it was really tough managing IRQ conflicts and dealing with windows 3.0 (I am that old).. its been a while so I am a but apprehensive

Glad to have you posting! Since the OS is on the 128GB it will be a simple swap and then format the 500GB if it has not been already. The only thing that you might have to do is insure that the bios boot order doesn't change.
