budget small laptop for photoshop/gaming

I have been in desktops for a while, generally mid range builds but never have kept up much with laptop hardware. I am looking for a small very portable laptop I am ok with 15" but would prefer 13 inch or less. something the size of the old style netbooks size would be ideal. Gaming would be nice but I am not talking crysis 3 maxed, more along the lines of borderlands 2 or SWTOR in medium-low. aiming for the $5-700 mark. I like using MSI and ASUS parts in my desktops am hoping both of those brands make good laptops but am open to suggestions of other brands. I have been looking on newegg but I am having difficulties finding benchmarks on alot of the listed hardware.

In that mark I think you are looking at gtx 750m territory...not amazing however coupled with an i5 processor it will handle the games you mention fine.

MSI is ok and so is Asus for laptops. Acer has less build quality but comes with nicer bits and pieces inside.

The laptop market is full of models and choices, it is about finding the right components and then finding a review about the rest. http

Comes with an i7-4500U, 1080p IPS panel, and a 2GB nVidia 745m.

That is the best price on a laptop with a 1080p IPS screen I've seen all year, much less one with a mid-grade discrete GPU in it. The screen will make a huge difference when doing photoshop work.

The 745m seems to be about the same speed as the 840m:
