I have a samsung laptop model NP350V5C-T02US -http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/pcs/NP350V5C-T02US-specs

I'm pretty sure that I fried my video card running dual screens for too long as the hdmi port no longer works and none of my games are able to run at any kind of playable speed. Still able to browse the web and run most programs, some videos run a little choppier with pixelation which I assume is because its being run through the CPU instead of the GPU.

I went into the device manager and disabled the display adapters which said they were malfunctioning due to a hardware error. Upon reinstalling the drivers it says that it is working properly however I still have limited video.

The specifications say that I have an external graphics setup so I am wondering if this means I would be able to buy a new graphics card/chip as the only one I have found online is this which appears to be for a desktop.

So I am wondering if I would be able to use this card, if i need a different graphics chip and I could install it on my motherboard and with or without thermal paste, or if i should talk to the manufacturer, or if there are any other diagnostics I could run to confirm the problem if it might be something I had not considered. Thanks for any help.

The laptop does not have "external graphics" but a discrete graphics. Intel i5 has built-in graphics in the CPU but laptop has additional AMD graphics chip that is soldered on the motherboard. It means that if defective you need to take to a computer repair shop to get a replacement chip. You can use the intel graphics but it is not good for gaming.

The link you provided is for a desktop graphics card, not laptop. Only high end desktop replacement laptops such as Alienware have replaceable discrete graphics card.
