MacBook Pro intel i5 or i7 CPU?
I'm looking at getting the 13" MacBook pro(mid 2014) and on the apple website it has the option to upgrade to a i7

I'm a graphic designer and are going to be using photoshop, after effects and other heavyweight program's.

My questions are
Is it really worth the extra $300

Do you have a MacBook Pro with a i5 and
do similar things and if so how does it cope

Would it be more expensive to upgrade later on/ is it possible because I know apple make it hard an solder the thing onto the motherboard

Please no links to benchmarks or stats( ill trialled through them till my eyes bled), I just want to hear from people
Who have these computers

A i7 would definitely be better, Photoshop and After Effects will benefit loads from the hyperthreading + clock speed boost. If you are doing 3D applications such as Maya or 3DS Max. Then i7 will help a lot in render times + with lots of polygons. Despite this I would recommend getting a Desktop as it will be much faster and cooler. An i7 will run very hot in the MacBook, and upgrading will be limited.

The only reason why I'm getting a mac is because I need it for my job. If I had my choice I'd be making a desktop pc from the ground up running all the bells and whistles
