Hello,
I recently purchased the Alienware 17 laptop. I like to play the latest games on max settings. But the laptop fails to deliver such performance.
I also read on the internet that games are playable on 50-70 fps on this laptop. Even when the laptop is charging on high performance setting, I'm getting 20-25 fps on dying light, 20fps on dragon age inquisition.
Please help me out. Thank you

You won't get desktop GPU performance on a laptop GPU. There are differences between them like power consumption, shader count, ROP counts, operating frequency, buss bandwidth, and memory capacity (although the highest-end laptops can match some desktop GPU's in that category). You can't overclock them either (as far as I know) because of limitations for TDP due to the cooling ability of the laptop cooler, which isn't as good as a desktop. Also, laptop CPU's aren't the same as their desktop counterparts, being they don't operate at the same frequencies, so you will see some limitations there. But that said, the CPU/GPU's on laptops are optimized to give you the best performance possible. I haven't seen a high-end laptop GPU get...

Whether your issue is due to the components simply being outclassed by your game settings or not, I say lower the resolution a bit and axe some detail settings and see where that gets you.
