no audio on home theater

Hello there!
I just bought a samsung smartTV and LG home theater. unfortunately, I can't connect TV speaker to home theater. I have read previous post that this two devices must have atleast an ARC or digital audio output. But in my case, my SmartTV and LG home theater doesnt have ARC. My smartTV only has digital audio output/HDMI. Whereas LG home theater only has HDMI only and audio in. Is there any ways to connect smartTV to home theater such as digital output extension etc??

Usually you would use the toslink (also called optical, also called spdif) connection.

What is the model numbers of your receiver and of the TV and I can tell you what to use.

ARC stands for Audio Return Channel, it is a technology in HDMI 1.4 or latter that allows it to send the audio data "backwards" from the TV to the receiver. The LG unfortunatly from what I can find, only has HDMI 1.3 so it wont support ARC.

Then the only option you have is analog rca from TV to receiver. You would have to upgrade the receiver to get digital surround sound from the TV.
