How do I get safe mode to work on my external monitor [tv] with hdmi, my laptop monitor is broken

I've been looking for answers for hours and I can't find anything. I recently was stuck in Safe mode after I typed in msconfig and clicked automatically start in safe mode. My laptop monitor is completely broken, I can't see anything at all on it. So I've been using my tv as an external monitor to use my laptop. Recently, I just obtained alot of malware and viruses that have effected my computer tremendously. Nothing will open after 10 or 15 minutes of logging on. I know how to fix it in safe mode. I was stuck in safe mode and after hours of searching how to get out of safe mode, I finally found a solution in one of the forums to help me get back to normal mode without seeing the monitor and only just using buttons. But now I'm back to normal mode and I'm trying to find out a way to get safe mode to work on my external monitor. Btw, the boot menu doesn't work at all until I get to the windows log in menu. I'm currently using windows 7. Now, I have read many threads of how some people have almost the same problem. But their stuck in safe mode and their external monitors won't allow them to see anything in normal mode. Now, I'm pretty sure, there has to be a way for me to see safe mode on my external monitor if people can only see safe mode on their external monitors. I've heard how you can't see anything on an external monitor in safe mode because the drivers are disabled. Well, how could some people be stuck in safe mode on their external monitors. There has to be a way. Please help me someone I dont want to buy a new monitor because its the same price as buying a new computer, and I don't want a new computer, because then I'll lose all my files on here. PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE HELP MEHHHHHH.
