I have a Compaq Presario V3000
I am trying to extend my laptop screen to a monitor utilizing the VGA port AND connect a flat screen TV to the laptop so when I play a music video through my DJ program (using a 7pin S Video cable)
My goal is to be able to utilize the laptop screen for the DJ program, the monitor for the Music Files display, and the TV to display the video from the Music Video playing on the DJ program.

I can use a VGA splitter and connect both to the VGA port on the laptop but then the video is on both the monitor and the TV

Solution
Laptops can only send two video signals. One is to the laptop's screen, and the other is to the VGA port (HDMI in newer laptops). Connecting multiple monitors to the VGA ports means all those monitors will be displaying the same video signal.
