Hi, I have a LG Smart TV (LG47LN57V) and recently bought Bose Solo 15, great sound from the Bose device. However I have been having problems with the streaming of films and titles through the built in Netflix app on the TV through the Bose Solo. The problem is that the speech and dialogue is out of synch with the picture.

Now through my normal tv channels there is no problem at all, speech works fine in conjunction with the picture but when I try a play a film through the Bose Solo through the Netflix App, there seems to be a 3-4 second delay in dialogue/speech with the picture.

I can overcome this issue but it means disabling the Bose Solo and selecting the TV speakers but the quality, as you can imagine, is not the same. Does anyone know what steps that need to be carried out or what do I need to set up that will allow films on the Netflix App picture to play properly without the couple of seconds delay?

Thanks

Hi, thanks for the reply, I tried the features in the Audio Delay Feature but the audio is still late, there seems to be as I mentioned a 3-4 second delay in scenes. Now I tried changing the sound output from PCM to Auto to see if that worked and it did not. However when I switch the settings to TV Speakers, the audio works perfect, If anyone else has any additional suggestions , that would be great,

Thanks,

Mike

So, since audio is coming late, you should be able to set the video delay to match, if your Smart TV has a video delay feature. Optical digital sound has to be processed and since the tv automatically syncs audio and video but the Solo 15 likely also has an audio signal processor, it may be due to the audio signal being processed twice.

How is your sound connected, optical cable, coaxial digital audio or RCA analog?

Apologies for the delay. I think I might have found out or at least narrowed down as to what the issue is. I have the TV connected with the BOSE Solo 15 coaxial digital audio cable. The delay in the dialogue speech when watching the films on Netflix seems to occur if I watch through Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 Audio , if I switch to Standard Stereo, it works fine.

Its a pity that the speech delay only happens with the 5.1 transmission, hence with the built in 5 speakers through the Bose box, you would think that speech would be in synch. Is this quite common with the Bose Solo system?? Thanks

I know this question is fairly out of date but I am posting my findings just in case someone else is looking for a fix. As mine is slightly different and may fit with other scenarios I thought I would post it.

I bought a new Samsung Smart TV and have Sky+ and Bose sound bar. I had issues with lip sync delay (audio was behind). I found the solution and rectified the issue by adjusting the digital audio output delay on my SKY+ box (in the settings - picture - sound). Worked a treat

I've found this exact problem with both LG and Samsung TVs. I've tried different soundbars but the problem still arises. For some reason when using an external soundbar with an app or a local video file, the audio and video are always out of sync, it's so difficult to get the lip sync setting right as the live TV channels are fine.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think it's a wider problem but whenever I call tech support, they arent aware of the issue.
