Dell Inspiron 5010 won't power on with new battery

Just bout a new battery now my laptop won't turn on. If I take the battery out & keep the ac adaptor in, it still won't power on ??? Help me I have a Dell Inspiron 5010 it's about five years old but it's in great condition

hello there if your laptop wont power on with or without battery i would suspect either the power port needs to be replaced or that your motherboard is bad hope this helps
