Long story short, ended-up with a corrupted BIOS tonight. It turns on, the screen doesn't come on, and it's giving me the corrupt BIOS blinking lights error. On some tries to turn it on, the lights do not flicker and the screen comes on, but the underscore up in the corner just sits there and doesn't flash. I tried the windows key + B method to restore the BIOS and it doesn't do anything.

How do I restore the BIOS from an external drive? I found the instructions but I can't find the files to put onto it or what format to format the drive to.

The laptop is an HP-Pavilion G7-1328dx with Windows 7 64-bit.

I've tried asking on the official HP forum but no one's responding.

I downloaded the files but it doesn't give me an option to install to a USB drive. I've tried following HP's instructions on their site but they are vague and give no links to two additional programs it claims I need. When I search for them, I can't find either.

I followed the links and came to this download file that's supposed to executable within Windows: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-120487-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=4063&productOid=5242967&sw_lang=

When you clicked on it, what did it say?
