I am a retired 76 yr old senior with very low income, and my computer crashed. I took it apart and tried to fix it, to no avail. I want to buy a i3 intel core, 15.6" laptop with an aluminum frame. ( Age has its clumsiness) I read somewhere there is something called a Sager, but I've never heard of it. I of course would like the ASUS or LENOVA, but they are above my budget. Any suggestions?

Solution

In the next few weeks Acer will be releasing a ruggedized, Intel i3 equipped Chromebook for around $300. Acer says that it will have "reinforced covers" that are able to withstand 60kg of force as well as "reinforced" hinges that are capable of standing up to unusual twisting and stress. The corners are also said to be able to withstand nearly 1.5-foot drops without taking damage. As long as you use your laptop for web browsing, mail, basic document editing etc, I bet a Chromebook would be perfect. I plan on getting one for school as soon as it's available.
