So my MOBO is an MSI Z97 PC-Mate, i dont know what type of audio card it has.and i was thinking of buying a sound card right now im looking at:

ASUS XONAR DG Headphone Amp & PCI 5.1 Audio Card
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-XONAR-Headphone-Audio-Card/dp/B0045JHJSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1423342231&sr=8-1&keywords=xonar

ASUS Xonar DGX PCI-E GX2.5 Audio Engine Sound Cards
http://www.amazon.com/Xonar-DGX-PCI-E-GX2-5-Engine/dp/B007TMZ1BK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1423342231&sr=8-2&keywords=xonar

If any of these are better than my on board audio card which one is it?

well, for just gaming purposes and every day use, (music, movies..etc) you dont need a dedicated audio card.! your mobo has Realtek ALC887 ''high definition audio codec'' which is more than enough . even if you are seeking for just fidelity in such activities, a dedicated audio card must also be paired with an apropriate sound system (not something you get with 50 bucks) if you insist on having one ,i suggest ASUS Xonar DSX 7.1 Channels, if your budget allows, as it has the better quality as techreport's review also concludes to the following:

''we're inclined to push folks to spend a little more on the DSX. Our blind listening tests suggest the DSX has better overall sound quality...
