Laptop Rebooting when GPU reachs 90C

Thats it.

I own a MSI Gt680R laptop for some years, i had to replace the GPU for another gtx 460m because 1st one broke. Now, when it reachs 90C, it reboots by itself.

Ive been reading a lot about this, and everywhere ive seen that yes, 90C is a quite high, but not enough to reboot the system which should be around 100~105C.

I have to say, that i had some trouble while installing drivers, had to modify .inf files because default installer didnt recognize my GPU while msi afterburner did.

I just repasted the gpu. Btw, i was playing Battlefield Hardline BETA, but i tried another game and happened the same. When playing League of legends it just get to 70~75C.

Is there any way to move that limit higher?

EDIT: Forgot to say CPU stays around 60C not higher.

That's just some sick psycho idiots, dude. I mean how sadistic one has to be, to fry a GPU with a heat gun instead of a simple reballing !!!
Anyway, the point is, your laptop may have the upper tolerance limit of 90C. Also, the heat gun too may have caused some slight damage to the mobo. Whatever the case may be, there is not much that can be done about it. You can try to increase the fanspeed as suggested above.
Also, if the GPU is reporting wrong temperature, there is no software that can give you the right temperature (the ones you are using are good enough). Maybe, you can just add 10C to whatever temperature it is reporting.

90 degree is a bit high temp. You could use a cooling pad or repaste the gpu. I would not suggest increasing the temp limit for shutting down as prolong exposure to temp above 90 will degrade the hardware.

A few things to clear here, firstly, the temperature you are seeing may not be correct (as it is a common problem with any software reporting temperature) and the actual temperature may be reaching 100C. Secondly, that 100C limit is a generalization and many mobos may be tuned to restart much before that temperature (as your case maybe).
Did your old GPU stayed on till 100C? Also, have you OC'ed the GPU? If yes, try to revert back to the original clock to see if it helps.
Also remember the repasting / installing a new GPU may not be as good quality as the original factory pasting.
Did you buy a new GPU or bought a used one?

I bought the gpu from Aliexpress, advertised new, but not sure about it since you know... China.

I used Artic Silver 5 as thermal paste. Im using msi afterburner and hwmonitor and both says the same temp. If its now correct, how can i check it?

Also, no OC on this gpu, And with the old one i never tested it tbh, i started having a problem with it needed to get a reballing, took it to a store of my city which had good opinions from people of my enviroment with gaming laptops and....

They fucking destroyed everything. Instead of making a good reballing, they heated it with a heat gun. GPU was almost black in some zones, ridiculous. So i got a new one and took it to another good place where they made the reballing and here we are.

Try to set your fan speed to full with afterburn or speedfan and check the temperatures. See for any dust around the fan. Maybe your gpu fan is not cooling enough. Also you can check in bios settings for the automatic shutdown option. I would also suggest for a cooling pad.

Its a laptop so GPU has no fan, it has a fan for the entire laptop which to be honest, performed really good all this years. Maybe thats the problem? I cant edit the fan speed neither with speed fan or afterburner.

Seems to be that. Also i read somewhere, i think in this forum that the emergency shuttdown temp for this GPU is 105C, so its exactly when mine hits 95C when it reboots.
