Hello everyone,

Now I want a email account that's separated from any Microsoft based services, Hotmail, Outlook etc. Perhaps as some others I hate the fact that they try make you bind an old account to a new email address or even give your personal mobile number just to create a account. Personally, that's a huge privacy issue.

I'm also not a fan of Gmail either due to their little 'keeps a record on Google servers of any Web browsing you've done for 180 days' feature. Regardless of being able to turn it off, it's unappealing that they even have that feature in the first place.

TL;TR: Bottom line is, are there any secure, non phishing email service companies out there that aren't desperate to sell my personal information for advertisement so I can do my emailing/shopping online in peace.

Thanks.

Thanks, I'll check them out and do a bit of reading. I also came across mail.com, any opinions on them?

Also still open to other suggestions.

Hey Smorizio, yep I do want to use it for shopping. I don't exactly understand what you mean tho. I've never noticed a option to make other email addresses through my ISP... Perhaps only some ISPs give this feature? I'll have to look into it further.

Also how do I incorporate this with Thunderbird? I've never used that client.

Also is it perhaps a good idea to use alias email addresses? I noticed mail.com offers that feature. Thanks!

QUOTED SPAM REDACTED - SS

I'll have to look into it, I just want a stand alone email account for shopping that has nothing to do with any of my other emails. Right now it seems like using a alias email might be the best option, however I'm still uncertain who to do it with.

I might have to look into email forwarding a little bit more as well, still open to any tips and advice!

So, I decided using a alias was a good option, now would anyone recommend to use Thunderbird along side it? Apparently they have good additional security such as encryption. However I'm not sure if that will be beneficial since they websites don't know my primary email.
