Hi guys! I've been researching for a new laptop to buy preferably a cheap gaming laptop. My price limit is $500 and i have found a laptop that is exactly that price!

It is the Acer Aspire E5-421G-88JF

It has AMD graphics and processor, the reason this laptop caught my eye is that it seems to have a good price for it performance and it has a 7 hour battery life.

Specs:
-AMD A-Series A8-6410 (2.00GHz) (beats the i3)

-8GB Memory 1600 MHz

-1TB HDD

-AMD Radeon R5 M240 with 2 GB Dedicated

-1366 x 768

-Windows 8 64-Bit

So is this laptop good for running games?
assassins creed, skyrim, minecraft, Terraria, GTA 4 and 5, LoL, the forest, 7 days to die ect?

Solution
First thing first laptops aren't for gamings. Second thing laptops have mostly mobile processors for power saving.

If you want to play games like GTA 5 may be you can, but at low settings.

Do not expect high end gaming with lappys.

You are correct, some laptops are designed for gaming. However, those gaming laptops easily start at $1300USD and shoot up from there.

The graphics on the selected laptop are not going to get you very far.

Note, for most laptops, what you buy is what you get. There's typically no ability to upgrade except for RAM. I personally would say buy a desktop just to have the ability to upgrade.

the problem i have is that i want to buy a laptop because it is portable meaning i can take it wherever i want and be able to play a reasonable amount of gaming and my price limit is $500, so would this laptop run games like assassins creed, skyrim, minecraft, Terraria, GTA 4 and 5, LoL, the forest, 7 days to die ????????

i thought 2 GB VRAM was good and why would the graphics be bad?

Take a look and see what you can expect.

It's not completely about VRAM. The graphic processor is also important. Think about it like a car. A SUV with small engine is going to struggle hauling a large load.
