I have an Acer Aspire V5-473P-6459. It has honestly been a fantastic laptop with no problems up until now. I replaced the original HDD with an SSD with windows 8.1 it runs like a stallion. Even the battery life on this thing has been stellar. I'm talking over 6 hours of life consistently from a 100% charge.

However, now my my laptop when plugged into the AC adapter will not charge the battery.

Some people might say that I should discharge the battery and recalibrate it, but trust me that is not the issue.

As soon as I unplug the computer from the AC power it shuts off. No warning whatsoever. black screen and all power is gone. When the computer is plugged in it recognizes that its plugged into the AC adapter but the system reports only 70% battery even after a few hours.

I've opened up the laptop and tried removing the battery, draining all remaining power from the motherboard and reconnecting it. No luck.

I'm really stuck and I don't know what to do now other than send it to a repair shop which I'm really reluctant to do. Especially because I need to use this computer on a daily basis. I just don't like having to have it plugged in all the time. Doess anyone have a solution?

sounds like your battery is broken.
Buy a new one and all your problems are solved.
Maybe you can go to a store that has the battery and try it out so you are sure that solves your problem...
