My PS4 is connected to my computer monitor via HDMI, and my speakers are connected to the monitor via its audio out port. Howe

I connected my PS4 to a computer monitor (no speakers but does have a 3.5 mm audio out) via HDMI. To get sound I connected a pair of bookshelf speakers into the monitor, and while the PS4 is outputting sound, it does so only through one of the speakers. How might I get both speakers playing?

What monitor is it?

It could be the volume balance is to one side, check the monitor menu for any options for balance or mono/stereo settings.

What cabling are you using exactly and how are the bookshelf speakers wired?

Check the 3.5mm male end has two rings for left/right.

The monitor is a Dell S2240L, and has no audio settings in its menu. Speaker wiring shouldn't be a problem; when they are connected to a different source, both the right and left output sound. The 3.5 mm has two rings as well.

Hey bigdawgsniper,

what you need to do is hold the ps button. then for output settings on sound you need to change it. if it says only chat change this to all audio, you will still hear chat but on both ears now. PLUS both speakers should have working audio now. let me know if it worked.
if not go in to the main settings and go to audio and change it there.
