I had my laptop for a year now. It is a windows 8 It was working perfectly before. Yesterday I bought a VGA cable and thought it would be cool to plug my laptop to the tv. It did work but when I disconnected my VGA cable from the laptop and tv my monitor turned off. The laptop was still on. What do I do.

Solution
If you turn the laptop off and reboot with the tv disconnected it should return the main display to the laptop.

If it does not, reconnect the tv and right click on the desktop. Select the resolution settings or desktop properties option and in the properties window should be listed both the laptop main display and any external displays that are connected.

Select the laptop display by clicking on the image that represents it (Which should be one of two numbered screen images) and then check the box down below that says "make this my main display". Click ok then reboot.
