Hello, i need to get a laptop for architectural rendering (revit, photoshop, 3dmaxs, lumion) and there's just so much info that i'm kinda lost.

these are some specs I do want if possible, with my limited budget of $950:

750gb memory

intel quad core i-7 or Multi-Core Intel® Xeon®, or i-Series processor or AMD® equivalent with SSE2 technology

Nvidia graphics card with 2gb dedicated memory

8gb ram

DirectX® 11 capable graphics card with Shader Model 3

i don't know much about video adapters and cpu types so pls don't ask me questions about them

thanks a lot for helping out :)

i strongly suggest intel cpu. avoid the ''U'' marked models as even the i7 are still dual cores.! shader model 3 is a decade plus old so is supported from any gpu or igp, however a dedicated gpu is recommended! here is a good candidate.

specs: 17.3'' 1080p / 8gb ram / true quad core cpu / dedicated gpu 2gb / 1tb hdd

Lenovo Z710 (59433088) 900$ Newegg

Lenovo Z710 (59433087) 950$ Amazon

50$ more for the 16gb ram model

If you're doing a lot of work with graphics, then I would definitely go with something with an IPS display, as that is going to give you the best viewing angles and color reproduction.

Check out this list to see price and spec comparisons within your budget.

If I were you, I'd go for the Acer Aspire V15 Nitro for $799 while it's still on sale (this is the last day of the sale). It has a quad-core i7-4710HQ, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Nvidia GTX 860M graphics, and a 15.6" 1920x1080 IPS display.
