My laptop has 3 USB Ports, one is 3.0, others 2.0.
Sometimes they malfunction and automatically disconnect and then reconnect after a few seconds. And most of the time they just stop working until I restart my laptop.
I just formatted the PC and installed the drivers from the CD that came with it.
Also my touchpad is not working in any way.(I have drivers)
Things I've tried:
Uninstall all USB drivers from Device Manager and restart.
Uninstall all USB drivers from Device Manager and shut down the laptop with the battery off for some time so it has no power.

Any help?

Solution
If you've installed/reinstalled the latest drivers and BIOS, make sure you've got the latest Windows update. Here are two other related measures you can try.

This from KJK1908 on THW:

1. From your home screen, type 'Power Options' in the search field and click on it.
2. Click 'Change plan setting' on your chosen plan.
3. Click 'Change advanced power setting' on your chosen plan.
4. Find 'USB settings' and open.
5. Find 'USB selective suspend setting' and change it to disabled.

This next is from MSDN Blogs. It shouldn't be necessary but it's worth a try if nothing above worked...

Try updating your drivers from: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/K53SV/HelpDesk_Download/

Might also want to take look in your BIOS to see what version is flashed to your mobo - it might need updating also.

I just did that and it did not work.
My USB ports still disconnect/connect whenever they want.

Thanks, I haven't had problems today.
I'll say if it starts happening again.
