When my laptop is connected to the TV through my HDMI cable, I get video but no audio.
There is no HDMI option in playback devices, even with disabled devices and disconnected devices showing. I've tried with the audio and graphics drivers provided by the manufacturer, as well the most up to date ones provided by VIA, Nvidia, and Intel. I've also tested this on 3 different TVs with 3 different HDMI cords and the same thing occurs, so it is definitely an issue with my laptop. My laptop came with Nvidia's Optimus technology so display is controlled through Intel's HD Graphics and not through the Geforce graphics.

This is probably not your solution. However, we had a gentlemen come in with a similar issue. He had a desktop with onboard graphics and wanted to connect to his TV via HDMI. The TV would not play sound when connected. What we ended up doing was to uninstall the latest driver update. Something about the latest driver prevented the audio from being recognized and played back through the TV.

I see you mentioned that you've tried it with all different drivers, but that's just my insight. Hope this helps somehow.

If its the same problem I have you may simply need to reboot after connecting the HDMI cable. With the cables properly attached, after a reboot HDMI audio should show as an option in Playback Devices.

Bump. I have the same problem. Same model computer too. Although my HDMI played audio to tv just fine up until I had to reinstall the operating system entirely.
