Hi all,

My otherwise reliable Sony Vaio seems to have developed a problem with the keyboard. At the BIOS password screen i can only enter a-z or 1-9 characters, whereas before this was not the case. Sadly my BIOS password contains a character different from either a-z or 1-9, so i was wondering whether there happens to be an option of disabling certain keys using a specific combination or something, which i might have pressed. It's probabably going to result in having to buy another keyboard, but does anyone know of a very improbable key combination which disbables certain keys? Thanks in advance

p.s. i hope i'm not posting an "illegal"thread but this is not concerning a bypass of any kind

Apologies for the late reply...I didn't know there was such a thing as fnlock? Caps lock, num lock, scroll lock are the only type of locks i've ever seen on a laptop... But the problem is solved now, for some reason i got through by pressing f2 (to get into the setup straight after the password) and holding in the particular character key just before pressing enter. Was very surprised but of course chucked the BIOS password straight off. Never going to have another one haha
