In every discussion I've read about "cutting the cord" no one addresses what seems to be the elephant in a room full of blind people: if you give Comcast the finger, and cut the cord, and you don't live in a rural area with "consolation internet", how do you get your high speed internet service? We're a wired family: all the apple devices and computers, but we subscribe to Apple TV, Amazon Prime, Hulu Plus and MLB.tv. So...?

I don't understand your point. Cutting the cable usually refers to not subscribing to a TV package. I don't believe that it precludes using Comcast or TW or Verizon for internet service.

Is your point, that paying for HuluPlus, Amazon Prime, etc is equivalent to a TV subscription? For $8 to $10 per month per service, it is still lower cost than a standard TV package.

I know that. You can't not buy TV from Comcast. So...where do people get Internet when they cut the cord?
