I'm finding many threads on this site and across the internet regarding network connection issues with Samsung tvs. Unfortunately, I've only found one site which actually discusses the issue I'm having but no solution was found (http://www.experthelp.com/question/726072/have-a-samsun...). The rest of the threads and sites pertain to issues that I'm not experience. So, here is my description of the issue I'm experiencing and I apologize for not using correct language.

I have a Samsung UN60ES8000 that will no longer connect to wireless router. I discovered this by trying to get on Netflix or other app and it gave me network connection error with option to go to network settings. I've had the tv almost 2yrs and has always connected to the same router, which is operating fine and other devices in the house are connected to it without issues. When I go thru Network Settings to re-set up the wireless network, it will search for networks and will only display my network (none of the other wifi networks nearby like it used to) for about 1 second and then the entire menu disappears. 2days ago I called Samsung support who confirmed my firmware is the latest version (version 001056), they had me try manually entering DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4 but this did not solve anything as many other threads have said this resolves connection issues. Also, before calling Samsung, I tried to mirror the tv IP settings to reflect those of my laptop or other devices which connect to my wireless network just fine, but this did not work either. Finally, they wanted to try resetting the tv back to factory settings. After doing this and going thru the initial tv setup questions, the tv seemed to find and connect to my network again (don't recall seeing any of the nearby networks on the list though). I was so happy to finally have it fixed! But, the following morning I tried getting on smart hub to listen to Pandora and once again the network connection issue was back. Sure enough it was not connecting, when going thru the network setup it would only display my router (none of the nearby networks) for 1 second (maybe even less) and the entire menu would disappear or close. I tried same steps (manually enter dns and reset tv again), but the network connection failed to show my network after the reset. Also a note on the reset, I noticed the TV says this option will reset the tv to factory settings but network settings will not be affected. Since the network is the issue I'm having, is there a reset option that does reset network connections/settings? I repeated all the steps that Samsung had me do the night before at least a couple times, but still no luck. I don't understand how to get resolved if I have latest version of firmware. I tried downloading the firmware to usb anyways, just to reinstall in case it was corrupt on the tv, but Samsung's website does not have the newest version available for download. They only have version 1054.4 and when I spoke to Samsung two days ago, they said my version (version 1056) is the latest version. I tried downloading the older version (1054.4) anyways at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/UN60ES... (thinking it would just update to the newest version later), but when I tried updating on the tv, it said no update files could be found on the usb device. This might be a whole other issue and maybe some different attempts may work but I'd rather just try posting online where so many have provided feedback/solutions to similar issues. I don't know why the reset would solve the problem one day, then the next morning it was back to not working and resetting the tv again does not fix the problem like it did the day before.

Just to reiterate the problem and steps I've taken so far - Problem: Won't connect to wifi, network settings menu on tv disappears immediately after searching for networks. Firmware version is 1056, tried manually entering DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 (neither worked), then reset tv to factory settings. The reset solved the issue, but was back to not working the following day and no longer works when I try resetting again.

I am sorry but I can only assume that the wireless in your tv has given up. I don't imagine it would be too expensive to get it fixed. $100 +-

I am in the same boat I have a un55es7500 on January 10th I updated to firmware 1056.5 and lost my wifi. I go to search for wifi and it sometimes shows up quick then disappears most of the time nothing shows up. Contacted Samsung and went through 2 hours of support to no avail. I asked them about 1056 firmware and they have no clue about it. I have emailed them to see if there will be a fix as I have found a few others with our same problem after updating but they have not contacted me back. I don't think that the wifi just gien up I think there can be a fix if they give us a update. Does any one know if I just buy a wireless dongle for the USB port if that will work to get a signal to the tv??

Hi i did a factory reset and after two update of smart hub the tv work just fine. i have wait two days to make sure that the problem is definitly gone.

The way to acces the factory reset on a un60es8000 is to close the tv set then press mute 1 8 2 power.

A menu will show choose option then factory reset if the tv dont shut by itself close it and restart it. Folow all the programmation and open smart hub. You will have to open smart hub several time to have all the updates done.

You `ll may be have to do it twice.

Hope this help...

No luck I did factory reset went to smart hub had 2 updates. After updating went to configure wireless and my network was there. I hit the button asked for my password hit the button again and it loaded for 30 seconds and just put me back to the set up your wireless network option. When I was in the factory reset options I looked around a bit and noticed my wifi region code is set to R. Does anyone know if that is the correct region for U.S.?

I have same issue for my Samsung UN46ES6150 TV. It had been working very well last 3 years, suddenly from yester day I am facin the issue.

When I try to set Network settings, it is trying to find wireless routers/network and will come out of the menu.

Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Also what I have noticed is it is able to detect wired network, if I connect network cable

I am having the EXACT same issue as well. Sorry that I cannot offer any additional information but it goes to show that 1056 (1056.5) is the culprit.

I too am having the same problem exactly. I have a repair person looking up the model and upgrade version to see if there are any issues at the Samsung service website. At one point a customer service person said there was a know issue and then when I talked with another customer service rep they said they could not even find the version I was talking about on their website. I too think Samsung has screwed up and needs to fix this. All out TVs are out of warranty but all of them doing this at the same time points to the upgrade, will post again when the repairman calls me back.

I updated to 1056 and it lost my wifi settings. Attempting to go into the network settings just results in being kicked out of the menu. Sometimes it will search for my network for a second before closing the window and kicking me out. Also the wifi direct and soft ap menu appear and disappear at will. I installed the brand new 1057 update and it didn't fix anything. After an hour with Samsung tech support I am waiting for a callback from a supervisor.

The soft ap menu disappears and reappears as if there's a short or really buggy software. I can't select anything. It's either not selectable (greyed out) or says feature not available.

Samsung told me my issue would be escalated and I would receive a call back in 1 day...that was 4days ago and still no callback.

Same here, having the same problems but on version 1057.0 on a PN51E7000. I spoke to Samsung tonight and after speaking to customer support, they escalated my issue to the next level, and they couldn't fix it. They said the issue was going to be escalated to their application support team, as it sounds like there's a problem in the updated software version 1057.0

Sadly, I could get no confirmation of when this might be looked at, nor do they support (or allow?) downgrading software versions on the tv. I've heard you can "jailbreak" these E models, but I want to steer clear of that.

Very frustrating that since owning this TV, this is the first time I've had trouble with the network, and we use it so much for streaming video. It was rock solid before and really dependable, and now it's just a huge unusable thing sitting on our tv cabinet :(

I am having the same issue, same tv. Have tried everything. Samsung said it must be the wireless card gone bad and of course a month out of warranty. If you try each app, first it says searching for wireless connection. The 1st time you go to each app. The list of all local networks pop up for less than a second and dissapppear. The 2nd time it says, looking for a network. When I hard wire it is fine. I hope they reselve it soon. I don't really want to make larger holes into the floor. I would think for the amount this TV was, they would be a little more helpful. From all that I read, it seems like a Pandora update.

I'm having the same problem with my UN55ES8000. I updated to firmware version 1057.0 when the Amazon app told me an update was required. Now my tv can't find my wireless network. It work's fine on a wired connection but I really don't want to have an ethernet cord running across my living room forever. I've tried every forum suggestion and spoken with several samsung techs over the last couple days. I finally called back and got connected to an advanced tech after they didn't call me when they were supposed to. After trying several things I was told to contact my ISP to obtain my default gateway #. dns server #, etc. and configure the network manually.

Now if I configure the network manually, then power cycle the tv it will connect to my wifi. However, every time I turn the tv off it will fail to connect again. So I have to go into the manual configuration menu again, hit ok, power cycle the tv again, and then it will connect until I turn the tv off. Now after explaining to another associate that it should not matter that my tv is out of warranty because this is a problem caused by their firmware update and others are having the same problem, I am waiting till normal business hours to speak with someone in executive support and see if they will send a service tech out even though it is out of warranty. I'll post back if I get it fixed.

I have the exact same issue on a UE40S6570 model, both wifi and LAN connections fail, WiFi won't connect at all and sometimes don't list any SSID. Also tried a Samsung tether WiFi hotspot, same problem. A LAN (EJ45 cable to router) can still make a local connection in same IP segment network but won't let met connect to Internet (e.g. seems to fail to route via gateway adress).

I have a NetGear N600 router, nothing changed, all other devices laptops, tablets, phones, sonos is still perfectly connected to Internet, the problems first started about month ago with failing wifi connections, To resolve it I switched to a cable LAN connection and now today LAN won't let met make an internet connection anymore.

A wierd thing was that despite the failing connections, the TV let me update the firmware via Online (still did not help) which shows that a internet connection is still possible! My firmware version listed in menu/support/contact samsung is T-MST10PDEUC-2004,1 BT-G and in the software update screen it shows current version 002004. When I repeat the update it now tells me there are no new updates so it is still able to contact the firmware server, which is odd.

The Network Menu is also behaving strange, sometimes it jumps back, also ny Wifi-Direct menu is sometimes completly locking up the TV so I have to disconnect/connect power to restore again.

I tried all sorts of workarounds like set soft AP off, disconnect all cables and reset the TV via the menu, include manual IP settings, tried the Google DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - none of it fixes the issue.

Seems Samsung has created fatal defects in the latest firmware updates related to the network components of the TV,

I tried to download the firmware from the samsung.com site but that apears to be the same version T-MST10PDEUC 2004.1, also, when I follow instructions it tells me it does not see the update on the USB.

Is there no way to roll back e.g. download an older firmware version e.g. one from before january this year when the probems appeartenty started?

Same thing here, UE40ES6100W. The damn thing just stopped working after 2 years. I have 2 ISP connections (1 with a Thomson Modem and 1 Asus RT-N66U running Tomato) - it's for sure a silent update they did some days ago, all over the globe. The guy responsible for this bug should be fired and all the supervisors who were supposed to check this miserable update before an official launch - shot (and fired) - not neccessarily in that order.

Anyway, funny thing though: it says "Connected to network, but cannot connect to Internet, contact ISP...", but when I selected Firmware Update -> Online it started DOWNLOADING the 2014.1 fw upgrade :) )) and what do you know... it installed it just fine (I repeat, by downloading it from the internet) ?!!?!! Geesh! What a joke!

Waiting for a solution Samsung... all over the globe...

Later edit: LOL - we just wrote the same thing almost simultaneously :)  It will be a mess around forums in the next few weeks, especially if they don't find an automated solution, without ANY user intervention. Wonder what Samsung will say... "Oops?! Sorry..." :)

I've just about given up on any of the "Smart" things my TV SHOULD be capable of but isn't, and have started using my PS4 for Amazon Instant Video, Plex, Netflix. PS4 works flawlessly

I have a Samsung UN50ES6150 and I am no techs at all. Since last night 2/23 when I hit OK to update my TV my internet was not connecting from my Time Warner Motorola Wireless Router. I immediately read through all the threads, checked settings in router and TV and nothing changed. but after much reading the conclusion is that darn Samsung update knocked my internet settings out of my TV. I wa so bummed after doing Zumba for 2 months straight! Aargh.. Sssoooo here is what I did...after reading some suggestions, I reset factory settings and then went to Support and then I noticed software update was highlighted. So I pressed it, got the latest update (which maybe after numerous complaints they uploaded a new one) and NOW IT WORKS. Hope this helps. Thanks to everyone for various inputs. I guess just reset to original settings then update..could it be that simple? We will know tomorrow if the problem comes back.

Sent a note to Samsung. Meanwhile, what routers are you all using - with which TV models? Thanks.

I have joined the club. Yesterday my two Samsung TVs (UE 32ES 6540 - nearly two years old - and UE 32D 6530 - three years old) both lost their internet connection, I think probably after doing an auto-update which then screwed them up. Have tried factory reset and does nothing.

Router is ASUS RT N66U, installed ten days ago to replace BT Home Hub 3, and so far excellent service, strong signal and very stable. Please note that I have no problem connecting the TVs to the wireless network, the problem is getting out to the internet.

If Samsung issue a further update, how do I get this if I cannot connect? How do I use a USB to do this?

How did you get the software update if you couldnt connect to the internet? Sorry for the dumb question!

Alright! I had this issue with Wifi for two years (List of wifi connections would appear and disappear in 1 sec) , and I used LAN connection all the time! Yesterday I got this Issue with LAN connection as well and nothing worked for me! So Today I read a lot of forums but non of them helped me! BUT I resolved this issue and my LAN and Wifi works just perfect now!

My TV is Samsung UN55ES7500FXZA

All I did is:
1) Factory reset through service menu. (on my TV is: "Mute 1 8 2 Power") Thats how I got into service menu. (Tv should be turned Off)
2) After I did factory reset via service menu, I Set my wifi region to "A" via the same service menu.
3) After that I did Factory reset from the TV Menu.
4) Then I entered combination that allows to choose some region (I guess it was wifi location). (on my TV is: " >> 2 8 9 << ").
5) Then I updated my FirmWare through internet (INTERNET WORKS FOR UPDATING FOR SOME REASON, BUT DOES NOT WORK FOR EVERYTHING ELSE)

Here is how to update:
Go to TV Source-- Click Menu--Support --Software Update and get update to latest firmware-- If you click Menu and check softwareupdate while you in SmartHub it will be gray out..so you need to go to TV Source
(THANK YOU YARLI)

6) After that my TV went Off and then it went On. and I opened Smart Hub but in couple of minutes I closed hub and tried to open it again and it did not let me open it because it was updating Smart Hub.

7)After 10 min I opened Smart Hub and I opened Youtube, And it works now!!!

Please let me know if it helped you.

This sounds really helpful, Rustam, thanks. But before I start I need to check about the model number: I realise this thread is about TVs which start "UN..." My TVs are both "UE...." otherwise the rest of the model number details are the same. Is this a region difference between TVs? Do I assume that the update is not suitable for my UE? Thanks again - David

As mentioned above, same problems as many others (Network interference message).

Glad some of you are getting your Smart Apps to work. I'm fairly sure I've found something that indicates that for me at least it is a problem with Samsung, not the router. I will share.

But first I should probably confess that I'm mid-level technically minded at best. By which I mean, I'm happy coming on forums like this and finding and applying solutions, but I don't have the technical know how to really understand why they work.

I consider myself a bit of a noodler with these things, but no more.

Anyway, I've tried all the solutions on offer - off/on, manual DNS, reset, accessing an update through the TV menu (although it tells me there are no updates).

FWIW, I cannot access any of the Apps (tried BBC iPlayer, 4od, Amazon and one or two others)...

However, there is a web browser installed that I can use to go online which works fine.

So this doesn't solve anything, but unless there's something obvious I'm missing (possible), this means that this is not an issue with my router. In other words, the Samsung TV can connect to the Internet (wirelessly), but for some reason the Apps don't seem to want to join in.

Perhaps someone cleverer than me might be good enough to tell me if my thinking is right, that this means it is definitely a problem with Samsung rather than one I can solve by fiddling with settings?

Model is UE40D6530

Many thanks.

Johnny - with all the same problems, but my web browser does not work. It seems to be a complete failure of internet connection as I cannot do software updates on line either.

I think the answer is to wait until Samsung do a new update, and then download that. Does any one know if Samsung have yet 'got it' about this global f*ck up?

I have just spoken to Samsung support in UK (09:02 GMT 25 February 2015). They acknowledge there is a (major) problem, and are working on it to resolve it. I got no answer to the question - will the solution be a new upgrade? Also no answer to the question - how will we know when a solution is available? I was told that "it will be solved from here". Does that mean autoupdate? If so, how do I access that? No answer.

Well, something is happening about this chez Samsung.

That makes it sound suspiciously like these things call home before doing anything else with an internet connection, and points to a samsung server-side issue.... My wife said ours crapped out yesterday, and I've tried all sorts (wifi & wired) and somethings up for sure. It can tell me there are no pending updates at least, I guess those that do see them are just updates from the factory firmware back to the current level.

I'm In the UK and noticed my Samsung TV started behaving oddly yesterday night 24/02/15. my TV can connect to the router fine but during the setup it says their is no internet connection.

it's weird that I am able to browse certain websites on the tv's browser such as google and can download apps from the app store but cannot go into the apps themselves!!! (except for demand5 & ITV player)

Router/TV factory resets & manual IP configs did not work.

I hope I am not alone here!

I am also having the same problem on my Samsung UE55ES8005. I have had problems connecting to wireless network for over a year but i was working fine with LAN cable. Now since 2 days approximately, even LAN wouldn't work, tried every possible thing mentioned here and in other forums and couldnt get it to connect.

I even upgraded the firmware via USB using the support website from samsung: http://www.samsung.com/dk/support/model/UE55ES8005UXXE to 2015.5 and that wouldnt help or solve anything.

I think this smart tv isnt so smart after all, i usually dont have any channels and only use smart hub for netflix and youtube. Now my tv is useless. I am pretty sure my router is all fine and everything ese is functioning well and connected to internet.

I hope there will be a solution for that very soon.
