I have been looking into buying a pair of Astro A50 I have heard there is a newer version of it that has recently came out and I have heard that many people don't like the mic on the older version I was hoping if anyone can tell me if the mic is much better than the previous generation and any other problems I may encounter because I don't want to pay $350 for something I won't like. also i'm wondering how are they with glasses and is it extremely snug? (I have a larger head).

Welp... if you really want a wireless headset, go with the A50s.

Just know that wireless means the headset is going to be larger, heavier, and less comfortable - there's no getting around that.

Why couldn't you just buy a headset that has a cord that can detach from the headset, like the A40s, or has a particularly long cord, or that you can buy an extension for?

I wouldn't go with steelseries. The two big guys to be looking at would be Astro for more gaming oriented gear, or Sennheiser if you want really good audio - and you would then get better mic quality by using a clip on mic, but since you dislike having one cable, that's probably not your cup of tea.

Go with the A40s, not the A50s.

The only difference is that the A50s are wireless... which does not mean they're more convenient, it means they're significantly heavier. I've used a friend's A50s a fair bit, and when I upgraded my headphones, I went with A40s and never looked back.

As for the 'new' version, it's not exactly new anymore - they did that update quite a while ago. My A40s were from the newer model, and the mic was wonderful while it worked, but after about three months started having serious issues, and didn't recover even despite my sending the headset in for repair. They're nice and large, not tight at all, and have a long ways to expand for larger heads, especially after the break-in period.

(Also, they should only be $300... but the A40s are still a better option.)

Ok I was Mainly hoping for some kind of wireless headset any other suggestions I don't like the Logitech headsets i have had one before and they felt cheap and were uncomfortable. and it's $340 because I need the PC version and it comes with "USB TX (DOLBY® TRANSMITTER)" then you have to add shipping costs because i'm in Canada. right now i use Razer Blacksharks they give great sound are comfortable and has a really good mic. but after 3-4 years they started to break down I lost the foam part for the mic and the parts grind while I adjust them. I would also like a Wireless headset because I don't like to readjust the headset every time I go to the bathroom and my regular cord is about 4m too short. the cord also bothers my left arm because my headset port on my laptop is on the right side so either i get less cord by wrapping around the laptop or the cord gets tangled as it hangs near my leg and it becomes very bothersome. Would there be any other good suggestions? i have also heard about some steelseries H wireless. any thoughts?
