I Have around a £300 budget for a good quality set of speakers for my new set-up and im planning to either get the AudioEngine A5+ or buy a set of speakers and a suitable amp. I don't know what is the better option for the price, Im not a massive audiophile so i dont know much about this sort of thing. I will eventually be hooking the setup to a DAC as well if that matters. Any suggestions for what speakers and amp would be nice as well, i found the Wharfedale Diamond 220 they get good reviews on what Hi-Fi but if any one knows any better ones im open to suggestions!

thanks in advance

I would definitely go for the separate amp and speakers. Some integrated amplifiers are coming through with built in DACs too. Speakers are very much as matter of personal taste so using your own ears to judge them is important. Visit a local audio dealer and let them introduce you to quality audio. Bring some of you own music. You might be surprised just how good it can sound. Many dealers will have trade ins so you can mix new and used equipment to get the best sound for your investment.

do you have any suggestions for what speakers and amp to buy? i can probably stretch to a bit more than £300 if it would improve sound quality a lot.
