I just got a Asus G751JY and running windows 8.1. I know some keyboards have a key that you press that can toggle the windows key on and off. I would think a gaming laptop would have something like that. Is there any key on my laptop that will disable the windows key?

If not, is there a way to program a macro key to do that?

Thanks

If you're familiar with the registry I would just do this:

https://support.microsoft.com/kb/216893/en-us

Otherwise, you could download software that allows you to change key mappings, such as SharpKeys (it's free IIRC). You can use this to straight up disable keys if you wish, or maybe map it to something further away from where your left hand rests so that you can still use it if you need to, but...

To disable the Windows key, follow these steps:

Click Start, click Run, type regedt32, and then click OK.
On the Windows menu, click HKEY_LOCAL_ MACHINE on Local Machine.
Double-click the System\CurrentControlSet\Control folder, and then click the Keyboard Layout folder.
On the Edit menu, click Add Value, type in Scancode Map, click REG_BINARY as the Data Type, and then click OK.
Type 00000000000000000300000000005BE000005CE000000000 in the Data field, and then click OK.
Close Registry Editor and restart the computer.
