Can I use the sub of 2.1 pc system to old stereo speakers?

my motives behind the idea ,is that though all the budget 2.1 or 5.1 pc sound systems ,though deliver great bass (lows) ,I never been satisfied with the mids and highs of those tiny satellites....

1-my guess is that such old Aiwa speakers would deliver more detailed mids and highs....do you agree with that?

2- what if I used more powerful subwoofer eg; the Genius SW-G2.1 1250 ,
it has 38 watts 20 for the Sub and 9 for each satellite..
my question will a subwoofer with more watts ,gives me better lows ?
I'm not seeking loudness,cause I have so small room ,all what i care for ,is calrity, details...

or to put in in another way, the amount of watts on the sound system ,would improve the loudness or the clarity ,details or both?

someone suggested for me another different idea,,, to connect the Aiwa speakers with the Lepai Lp- 2020a ,but I think the speakers without subwoofer wouldn't deliver the lows ,even if connected to amplifier... also the amplifier is cheap material and has short life...

Thank you very much ,I will compile the set and may be add two tiny tweeters I have to be attached to the Aiwa speakers to improve the trebles..... I will get back to tell you my impression of the sound...
