Hey! I have a setup where my desktop is connected to my TV via HDMI. The display and audio works on the TV and all that stuff, and I've tested using PC speakers plugged into the headphone jack with the 'surround sound' option on (cloned the sound, but it improved the quality, especially deeper bass sounds a lot). From some quick searches it seems that a lot of people are having trouble with creating a surround sound system, and apparently Netflix on PC doesn't support this, but that doesn't matter!

Basically, I'd just like to know what my options are when it comes to what speakers I can use plugged into my TV, and what I could do to improve my setup. eg. is a subwoofer and 2 speakers something I should be looking at? Am I only limited to using the headphone jack when using a PC->TV HDMI setup?

Thanks a lot for reading.

Looking at the specs, apparently it has an optical audio output, but it says it doesn't have a 'digital audio output (coaxial)'. Is a soundbar still an option without an optical?

OP,could be ......your TV may one or the other (coax /toslink or both .
toslink = (optical)

Some TV's only pass 2.0 stereo over digital out ( that can give you dolby pro logic with 5.1 receiver/ or 5.1 PC speaker set SB will do whatever maybe 2.1 if it has a separate S.W. .OTOH Some TV's output 5.1 over coax or toslink so either way it will sound way better
All 5 of the sets here do 5.1 so UR odds might be pretty good. .

smorizio, cool pictures !
