How did you talk to them in the first place, and send them the photo? Do that.

Ummm....

Why would Facebook need to see your government-issued ID, when you don't need to show it to register? I suspect this is actually some sort of scam and/or browser hijack on your PC.

What you should do is go to some other PC -- a friend's, the library, wherever, as long as it's not a) your current PC and b) a PC you've used recently to log into the account -- & verify that your account is actually locked. Remember to go straight to the Facebook page (https/www.facebook.com). If you can log into your account, then it's definitely a scam.

I've heard of this before, from reputable news sites.

Facebook does not like people not using their real names, and goes to great lengths to prevent it, including requiring you to send them ID if they think it's fake.

i tried to log in to my account using my sister laptop and by my android phone still same thing account locked for security reasons so how long will it take to unlock and if fb will change my name after giving my govt. issued photo then how long they will take for this thing to do plz answer spdragoo and its my real id for gods sake

plz help i am telling you in brief this is how i contacted them
1. when i saw the security lock down on my fb acc there was a continue button that stated that if it is my real acc help us to verify
2. Then when i clicked it they took me to a page and asked me to give govt. issued photo
3. I gave that than a box came and told me to log off and further news will be on my email acc.
4. So after 12 hours they replied that
Hi,

Thanks for your response. We'd like to change your name based on the documentation you provided. Once we update your name, you can log into your account and go back to using Facebook.
5. Then i waited 1 day but no response then i gave them a message that whn they will make change in my account and let me in
6.no response then i went to my support dashboard of my fb acc they replied the same message about name changing and on the top left corner there was a box stating that my case is being reviewed
thats all now tell me whats the prob is with fb plz and one thing i can see notification of my fb id in my email on my friends page there is no image of my account but a blank space so is my acc is hacked

i am so pissed off i just recently sent them my full name , birth , and college id and a real photo and one thing i was not using real photo in my account everything else was real thats all is that make my account fake . I gave a chipmunks photo to my profile picture thats all they get me locked for nothing this is totally injustice at least they can give me a cause what i have done wrong , what rules i have broken without giving any reasons they kicked me out like a football . In terms of service fb is very bad and they are now collecting personal id thats also bad very very bad

My two dogs have FB pages, so it apparently isn't rocket science.

And yes, their real pictures are posted and they used their AKC names. They primarily hang out on the Old English Sheepdogs of Facebook -- they like barking dog videos a lot.

I personally would never have given my them a copy of my ID. I dont actually ever put my personal info on the net period. Too many scammers, hackers, & bots out looking for any tidbit they can get IMO.
