Can't use built in Nvidia GPU in games

I have an Asus A55VD, with a built in Nvidia Geforce 610m GPU, but when I ran Shadow Of Mordor to test FPS, in the settings, it only showed the built in Intel HD 4000 one. When I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and changed the preferred graphics unit to the Nvidia one, It just switches back when I go back to check.

I tried looking at this thread: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1988136/laptop-dedicated-gpu.html and I tried the right-click and run with Nvidia processor method, which didn't work. I then tried the Task Manager Services fix, and that didn't work either.

I don't understand what's going on, even with the Auto-Select option that the Nvidia Control Panel reverts to, I would think that the Nvidia GPU should be used because it is higher powered, but that isn't the case.

Any input and help would be very appreciated.

If I were to hazard a guess, SoM was choosing whichever GPU was more powerful rather than always using the dedicated. 610M has a lower benchmark score than HD4000, ironically.
