Hello there,

Ever since a recent update to my TVs YouTube app, the app has a cut off screen. It only happens with this app and nothing else. The screen is black in the lower right side of the screen. It's like two black rectangles one starting from the top of the right side of the screen, and the other from the bottom left side, and meeting in the bottom right corner. Picture is cut off and is very annoying.

Samsung Smart TV
Serial #: Z3RS3CCB400790D
Model Code: UN55D6420UFXZC
Version: HQ02

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

For about 3 weeks now I have had a constant problem with YouTube activation. I have to activate it every time I want to watch it on my smart Blu ray player. with my tablet in my left hand and the remote control and the right I have to click on the sign in and get the code and enter it into the tablet. No problems with my two tablets or my cell phone.

The Google monster is determined to mess up a whole lot of peoples accounts by various means and methods and problems such as this.

What is wrong with this picture? the YouTube help forums are a waste of time and so is Samsung.

I had the same issue and then used online support for help. Spoke with Hugh from Samsung and here is the suggested solution.
Menu > Network > Network Status > IP Settings...change DNS from automatic to either 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4. This resolved my issue. :)

About three weeks ago a message appears when I started the YouTube app on my Samsung TV or Samsung Blue Ray player.

"YouTube application not available after March 2015. No longer supported by YouTube"

I spent hours on the phone with Google and Samsung. Samsung and Google forums have hundreds of complaints about the problem. Google points the finger at Samsung. Samsung blames Google. Samsung claims to offer support for YouTube. It is the most popular application on Samsung smart TV,s. Samsung tech support had me try various things to repair the problem but no one would pick up the phone and call engineering. Samsung representatives stated the TV is considered at the end of it's life cycle, it is an 2011 TV. Samsung even sold a product called Demetrius Evolution for $300 to fix the problem but I was told it wouldn't work with my TV. In my opinion Samsung is shutting it off because they don't want to pay fees and want you will buy a new TV. If I buy a new TV it won't be a Samsung. If YouTube stops working in March then I will file a complaint with The California Department of Consumer Affairs.

I have the same issue as "Kayaker123456. I receive the same message before YouTube starts and I also agree it's Samsung cutting it off to get you to buy an upgraded TV. Maybe there is a upgrade out there to download????

The easy solution is to "throw" youtube from your PC or Laptop via your wifi google cromecast! You can purchase this device for approx £30 that suits any smart tv with a usb, which is basically all of them.

It is a small device that plugs directly into your TV usb

Chromecast works with apps like Netflix, YouTube and Plex for streaming video but also allows users to open a Chrome tab remotely, on their big screen. This means anything from the internet can be played through the device and onto a telly. But users with smart TVs might say, "I already have that why would I want to pay for it again?" The answer lies in an open ecosystem. Rather than making apps for each different TV, developers can make one that works on any TV via Chromecast. I have a samsung and it works fine. This device has been on sale in the US for a while now. Its even available in airport shops in the uk.

Hope this helps
Tom

My Samsung BluRay's SmartHub did one of its "updates" yesterday (5-7-15), the YouTube app deleted itself, it still shows on the page where you download apps, but doesnt download..
Well anything I want to watch from Youtube, I just "Offliberty" it to a usb drive and play directly thru the TV off the drive... it takes a few minuted for the .MP4 to download to the stick, but then it's fine...

hopefully they fix the issue and the next "update" puts YouTube back on the player...

Heck take HulluPlus, CNBC, or VUDU.. leave my YouTube and Netflix alone! lol

For the past few months I have had the message stating that YouTube would no longer be supported as of March 2015. A few days ago, the apps on my TV and Blu Ray player updated automatically and the YouTube apps were deleted. As it is no longer supported, there isn't much we can do about it. Although, I did read a few months ago that Samsung had released an alternative to YouTube but to date no such app has appeared on the available apps on either my TV or Blu Ray player.

Hello,

the reason that Google/Youtube has stopped Youtube support on 3 years old TV sand devices cannot be technical. There must be commercial reasons behind this.

Please visit the dedicated Facebook page to join our efforts to have Youtube back on Sony, Panasonic, Apple TVs and Blu-ray devices.

HI. We are in the UK and I have a FREESAT SAMSUNG bo with 500gb HDD and it is great but suddenly YOutube gone in March..tried Samsung and they SUGGESTED THAT I BUY A NEW SMART TV...ha ha that might not even work...tried many different avenues and no good. The children love watching Youtube and all gone..not happy and not getting rid of our Smasung Top box since it is 95% full of 500GB capacity and still have ITV Player 3 channels catch up tv and BBC I player which is also great. Youtube and Google are useless and gready for certain and I am totally disgusted since they are all blaming each other and no help for the consumers..

I have a 75 inch Samsung smart (so called) TV a few days ago, I "lost" all my Apps .. Facebook, YouTube, Skype,. I re-installed them but every time I turn the TV off they disappear. I also have a drama now that the volume won't work when watching YouTube ? what the hell is going on ?? this only just started happening.

I spent a considerable amount of time on the phone yesterday with Samsung with virtually the same problem. I am totally fed up with Samsung. My solution... go out a purchase either the Chromecast or Roku and the problem is solved. I guess its not reasonable to expect a TV company to keep their software up to date. They are not in that business. Think about it. My "smart" TV is 32" model for which I paid around $350.00 Canadian. Even a cheap computer will run you much more than that so how good is the "smarts" that they load the TV with. Next time, I will purchase a low cost television and a separate computer. .....learned my lesson.

got this info from Samsung about performing a 'different kind' of full factory reset...

"Please perform a full factory reset on your Samsung TV which should hopefully resolve this issue. This reset is different to the one that you performed. To do this, please follow these steps below.
- Put your TV on standby.
- Press these buttons in order: INFO - MENU - MUTE - POWER.
- The TV will now display a service menu.
- Select Options.
- Go to Reset.
- TV will switch off.
- Switch TV back on.
- Go through setup.
- Check to see if issue persists. "

I still had some problems making this work as prescribed above - until I found the missing clue - you have to do all the key-presses above really quickly. This video helped

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHO1CReFOLU

The upshot is that this 'different kind' of reset made all the difference - and now the Apps are permanently showing rather than disappearing randomly from time to time.
