My Dell laptop D620 was functioning properly until last week. Then there were some issues with the charger connecting properly to the back of the laptop. So I brought a brand new adaptor. Checked the battery and the lights (all of them) come up when simply pressed. However, the laptop is not charging up. I removed the battery and just tried powering up the computer without the adaptor connected. To no avail. I replaced the battery and the laptop will not power on. When I press the power button with the adaptor connected, all I see is an orange light come up in the middle of the LED display zone and blinks as long as the power button is pressed. Then it goes away. What to do? Any advise.

Solution
Issue is not with the charger but likely with the jack on the laptop. Easy fix but you need to bring to a shop unless you are OK with soldering and opening up the laptop. If you want to rule out some other issue, you can try to charge the battery in a working D620 and try powering up yours with it.
