I got my old back up laptop Acer Aspire 5735Z. I have been using it for 5 years but now, I only using it sometimes.

For the past few months, every start up it restarts. The restart occurs randomly between Bios startup screen, windows loading screen, and user log in screen. But after many restarts, like 5 to 10 restarts, it will comeback to normal, i can use it normally. Weird right?

The stock OS five years ago was windows vista, then I installed windows 7. I thought you should know.

Heres what I already did to the laptop:
1. Cleaned the heatsink
2. Reapply Thermal paste.

Just this mid 2014, but its just only few restarts, until it becomes annoying like 5-10 restarts.

I installed windows 7 to this laptop about 2013 I think, I cant remember accurately.

Sorry for late respond. It has Intel Core 2 Duo. Minimum is 51-43 and maximum is 74, Celcius. Via RealTemp.

I got new observations:
1. The very first start up it goes to windows error recovery ( The ones with Startup Repair)
2. its normal on safe mode, no restarts.

Is there a chance that the fan is not functioning normally? Because I reapplied the thermal pastes and removed the dusts from the fan, heat sink, and vent only.

But when I go to safe mode, its all normal. Wierd, maybe its on software?

Thanks, doing it right now. Is there by chance that the CMOS is the problem? Because the clock keeps resetting.

Tried this, and the software repair that you said via safe mode. Still no luck. It seems my laptop needs more serious attention.

And I cant find the CMOS Battery.
