Does the software Code Blocks work in Windows 7 64 bit

i went to their site and downloaded one.but when i try to compile and run nothing happens.is there a way to fix this.please help

Im very new to this C ++ programming.we started it recently in school and i have never used it before.can u please tell me every thing i should install to run this program successfully.the only thing which i have installed is Codeblocks.
