So my friend just purchased a old laptop from a friend of his and he was having some issues getting the wifi to work. So we looked around and found that this laptop (Dell inspiron 5150) should have came with a wifi card of some kind when it shipped.
So we found a service manual for it(which i cannot link due to the thread not letting me publish with a link, google "inspiron 5150 service manual" poped right up). This manual shows a pci card right next to the modem under one of the panels on the back.
We removed the panels to find that the only thing in there was the modem but the mini PCI card is not there. We don't know much about older machines and generally speaking laptops are over my head, so i was wondering if anyone knew if this is the wifi card and if so that would make sense as to why he cant figure out the wifi. I don't have the exact number to look up anymore since the laptop is at his house and I am writing this at my own machine, but when we did look up the number on the back i remember it shipped July 2003.
