Are these laptops good for HD video editing and dual monitors?

I want a laptop that can handle editing HD videos - nothing too crazy. Maybe some color correction effects at most.
I also want to be able to hook my laptop up to dual monitors somehow

Are these two good for doing both of those things? Which one is better?

The Asus one has 1x HDMI, 1x MiniDisplay meaing you'd have to connect to one monitor using a HDMI cable and a second using Minidisplay. the touchsmart only has one HDMI port so you'd have to settle with using laptop screen and ONE external monitor.

The asus, is more powerful with 16gb ram and a slightly faster processor, it isn't touchscreen which is the only real advantage the ENVY has. Even in terms of weight the asus laptop weighs less.

If you can get a refurbed HP model for $680 and replace / add ram I believe it supports up to 16gb of ram then that is totally worth it. You don't get all the packaging and make sure you get a good warranty or guarantee if possible, also remember that you can only hook one monitor externally from the HDMI port.

Yes using HDMI and mini display port + your laptops screen will mean that you're running dual monitors plus your native laptop screen.
