So I'm looking forward to buy Acer's E5-571G (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-E5-571G-536E-Notebook-Review.125157.0.html) laptop and heard some comments on how poor Acer's display hinges are. So do these hinges look durable?

Also here is a video which basically shows the motherboard of the laptop, could someone tell me if the hardware looks good and durable? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmsFDi_qsnQ

and on an unrelated topic, how do these temperatures on this laptop fare? where an avg. temperature of 37 degrees is measured.

Thank you for your time :D Sorry for the long post!

Sounds like a good deal, I would go for it. When you get it you should know quickly if the hinges are a problem, too loose or tight. Good luck and enjoy :)

Looks? You cannot tell by looks alone how the hinges are. You just have to read some forums about known problems. I had a Sager that the hinges cracked, they looked GREAT on the outside when they were new. When it happened I read it was a common problem for that model, do some looking as they are a major pain in the ass to fix.

Unfortunately there are no forums on this laptop. How do you know if the hinges are good?

Your saying you read somewhere that "Acer" hinges in general were bad, I would not give that much weight without specifics. As I said it varies from design to design, Sager is one of the very best laptops on the market yet this certain model had hinge problems.

If you are that concerned over a general statement by who knows who then perhaps consider another brand. Honestly, there is always someone who has something bad to say about anything. Without specific information about exactly what product is bad I don't pay much attention to them, I like to read things in at least 2 or 3 places about problems.

Yeah 100% agree with you. The reason I'm insisting on this laptop is that it has an amazing GPU (nvidea 840m) and the laptop is weirdly cheap. If you were to buy a Dell with the same GPU, it costs more than 200$.
