I need a new headset, I can not stand my trash G430’s. So what I need is a headset with good quality, I don't listen to music so that type of audio quality isn't needed. I need a headset that can help me pinpoint where exactly footsteps are coming from in a game like CounterStrike. If it were black/red that would be great. General quality overall would be good and I refuse to buy anything that uses Logitechs software. I'm also interested in the HyperX cloud (stereo) but it wouldn't be really what I need. I really need help, so thank you whoever does.

I have been using Sennheiser PC360 which I find are fantastic having sound great for for music and watching movies etc but absolutely stunning in comparison to even my old Astro A40s (EDIT: For Gaming, of course). I'm no audio expert so I suggest asking around and reading up but I would highly recommend the headset.

Here it is for apparently $188 which is around what I payed for the Standard PC360s this is a slightly newer model with a braided cord although it is the wrong colour for what you were after there IS a black version but seems to be more expensive for whatever reason.
Someone else will...

Those look really cool, but with my luck they'll be 300+ dollars :V

So my first pair the metal cracked, the plastic cracked, and then the ear part just fell out. Now my second one is when I learned about the software that comes with it, which you need to turn on surrond sound. Now for this headset, surrond sound doesn't work and I can only hear out of the right ear. I've tried every fix on forums and they only stay fixed for a hour or two.

Someone else will have to chime in on how good it is for gaming without using hardware with virtual surround since I use my Astro Mixamp and a Xonar DSX. I can't imagine its bad though seeing as I went without the amp for about a week and while it took a bit to adjust to I could still use audio to my advantage in games to a large extent (Legendary Eagle in Counter Strike: GO).

So again, I would certainly put my vote towards this headset although a bit pricey I am finding them well worth the money.
