I don't really know what specs are the most important for gaming and how much I need for anything, and how much is unnecessary.
How much RAM is enough for running the latest games such as Far Cry 4 and Battlefield 4?
Is Graphics Card > Processor? as in, should I spend more money on a graphics card than on a processor?
I need to know the answers to these questions before I buy a gaming laptop, as this will be my first one, which I won't replace for probably a long time.
I plan on getting a GTX 970m, an i7 4710MQ processor and 8GB of RAM.
I'm spending about ~1500$
Thanks in advance.

Yea... For gaming gpu is more needed than the cpu...
But still... For lonp time investment...
An quad core-core i7 cpu, 8 to 16gigs of ram coupled with a descent gpu like gtx 860m or better...
U didn't mention ur budget... It'l b nice if u can tel us bout ur budget...
The specs may change according to that...
