My ps3 is hook on to my new vsx 44 receiver via hdmi n receiver to samsung 1080p tv via hdmi as well. I'm using two refrence 8" floor speakers. When I first turn on the ps3, there's sounds, but after I insert a game into the system, the screen went blank for a bit (like it had lost connection) n then back on, but then there's no sound, just pictures. Can anyone help please?

Try going into the video and audio options of your PS3 respectively and reconfiguring them. Make sure you check both 720p and 1080p on the video, and for audio, check only the boxes that apply for your sound system. For whatever reason or another, whatever sound settings you had setup before may be incompatible with your new receiver.
