Dell Latitude 6400 laptop

I botrowed a Dell Latitude E6400 laptop which has a virus on it and it crashed. When you first turn it on it shows you the Dell screen and that you CSN bring up the Boot menú by pressing f12. After that the screen changes to blank, after about dice to six minutes it goes back to uh Dell screen. What can i do? Can it be reset If so how can i do it?

Try starting it up again, hit F8 to try to get to a list of options and see if you can try to boot into Safe Mode. Otherwise on another computer, try to create a live Linux USB stick and plug it in to the broken laptop, try to hit F12 again and see if you get the boot device select menu and go from there.
