Trouble with a new sound bar (Pioneer SPSB23W)

I'm trying to send sound from my stereo (Sony STR-DG1100) to my new sound bar (Pioneer SPSB23W). The sound bar has two inputs--1 optical, and a pair of RCA jacks. I can hook the optical cable (the Pioneer manual says this is the preferred method) directly to my TV (Samsung LN52A650A) and get sound for the TV, but I'd like ALL my sound (CDs, records, radio, blu-ray) to come through the bar. Can this be done? Do I have to somehow route all sound through the HDMI to the TV and then out the optical cable? Did I just by the wrong sound bar with the wrong inputs?
Can anyone offer guidance? Thanks!

Solution
The receiver and TV both have analog and optical outputs so you can chose either one of each to connect to the sound bar. It's not clear what the sound bar would do for you if you have surround speakers already connected to the receiver but I would connect the analog record out of the receiver to the RCA input of the sound bar and the TV to the optical input.

Thanks! This isn't exactly the solution I was hoping for, but without an "optical out" port on the receiver this seems like the only way to listen to both TV and stereo with this equipment.
