I want to get a laptop for my kids thats in the price range of $300-$500.

They want to do basic video editing and play games like Sims 4 and Minecraft.

I am not savvy with the tech specs to know if the graphics cards or cpus are good enough.

Here are a 2 laptops that are in my price range:

HP 17-f029wm
$399
CPU: A6-6310 1.8GHz
RAM: 4
DRIVE: 750
GPU: radeon R4

TOSHIBA c55d-a5120
$337
CPU: e2-3800
RAM: 4
DRIVE: 500
GPU: radeon HD 8280

Can someone tell me the difference between the Radeon graphics or what kind of graphics I should be getting?
Do I even want to consider laptops with Intel® HD Graphics?

Any black friday deals out there?

Thank you for your advice!

Video editing requires processing power. More than what games generally needs. Do your kids want to record video then upload them to Youtube?

Both A6-6310 and E2-3800 are relatively weak CPUs (or APUs as AMD calls them). The E2 is the weaker of the two and should be avoided, it also has a weaker graphics core which makes it less desirable for games.

Although it is at the top of your budget, it is also more powerful than the $400 HP. The following link is to the ThinkPad E545 which has the A10-5750m APU and integrated Radeon HD 8650m. The A10 is more than enough to play the Sims 4 and record at the same time.
