I have a HP laptop. Bought HDMI cable, hooked up cable to tv form laptop. TV will play audio, but no visual, and on TV screen says "Unsupported" Went to control panel on laptop to change display settings to tv ( as I read thats what i should try to do), but tv was not an option, just " 1|2. Multiple monitors" Would appreciate help in trying to get video on my tv so I can watch videos!! Not very good at figuring these things out!

If its extended, depending on if you extended it Left or Right, just click on the bar for netflix and drag it left or right to the other screen. As for sound, go to control panel, sound, and under playback, change the output settings. Right now it'll be set to your default whatever audio output, select the one that says "HDMI Audio".

Have you tried using another HDMI port on the TV? Also try right clicking the desktop and going into your graphics options and seeing if it can detect the display? While this shouldn't affect it, have you also checked to see you have updated drivers?

Is your laptop a newer laptop? Does it have a external display key on top of the F# keys?

Alright, So, I tried the graphics option. I hit the extend onto two screens, and now I have the picture from my desktop on my tv, which is a step closer, also I still have the audio from stuff thats playing on my computer, however, how do I get netflix to play on my tv, instead of just seeing my desktop picture from the laptop?
