I recently got a Dell Latitude from one of my friends since they were throwing it away. Since the laptop I have now is a loaner and I have to give it back In January, I was thinking I could upgrade the laptop my friend gave me to the max. I've heard mixed things about CPU compatibility with this PC. Some people said the T9300 was the best CPU I can get but I think that is the one installed currently. The specs are 8gigs RAM, 2.6GHz CPU w/8mb L2 cache, no HDD (going to buy one soon), and some sort of integrated GPU (I haven't been able to check due to the lack of OS). Will the Q9100 work in this PC? Thanks.

Edit: The CPU socket type is socket-p

Edit #2: Would there be any way at all to upgrade the GPU?

Solution
Laptops are typically not upgradeable in any form, with the very rare exception of a few manufacturers. Dells, HPs, and other large name manufacturer laptops typically do not let you "swap" components as the chips are soldered directly to the motherboard. Your only bet to "upgrade" the CPU and GPU is to buy a new laptop.
