dell 15 5521 has trouble starting

When I press the on button the computer will make noise like it is starting but I have a black screen and a click every 3 seconds. Eventually the computer will start after numerous tries and it will run perfectly . Can you tell me what the problem is ?

It might be multiple issues, sometimes you can have a lot of dust clogging up the machine and in worse case scenarios your power supply could be on the verge of dying. It can sometimes even be a temperature issue..

Once you have the computer running for a hour or so, if you turn it off and back on does it do it without issue?

The clicking sound , sounds like a broken or stuck HDD head..... you'd better get it checked by a techie or then download a HDD utility to check the health of the drives....
HDTunepro, the trial version ought to be fine.... atleast it's clean.
