Hi guys, i need some help taking my mom's pictures and videos off her old Canon es8600 and putting them in file formats onto my pc. The only thing i can think of is this:http://www.cablecable.info/s-video-to-usb-cable/ then recording my pc's screen while taking the video. Of course there should be an easier way. Please help.

Hi there,

It seems to me like you need and A/V to USB capture card. These are unfortunately not very cheap. Although, I haven't looked around for cheap knock-offs. Once you have one of these capture cards you need to plug your camera into it (using the Analogue RCA connections) Then the card into the computer. You will need to run a program called scenalyzer (http://www.scenalyzer.com/) and then capture in real time the video footage. As for the images there should be a AV-USB Plug that you can transfer onto your computer.

Hope this helps.
